THIS IMPACTS WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH

Nearly four in ten women (38%) report their mental health has worsened since mid-March 2020.

Clinical depression and anxiety for women has been increasing significantly since the onset of the pandemic in addition to measures of loneliness, stress and worry. 

Yet over 40% of women do not have access to the mental health support they need.

MANY ADDED LAYERS ARE AFFECTING WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH DURING THE PANDEMIC.

Financial insecurity, job roles, caregiving responsibilities in addition to race, age and sexual orientation are adding to women’s mental health concerns. 

Indigenous women and those from a minority community rate their emotional health as poorer - 27% and 35% respectively.
